Required Fees | Optional Fees | Linked fees | Combination Fees

Setting up fees for your event has never been easier or more flexible.  Fill in the Title (optional), select if the fee is required or optional, and then place in at least one fee amount and description to complete each event fee.

What is a Linked fee?

A Linked Fee is one that is "linked" to a field in your form field.  It is a required fee only if the user selects the field to which it is linked.  Fields that can be linked are checkbox or drop down box fields.  The value of the field is read and acted upon using the following logic:

  • If the value of the field is ONLY a whole integer number (1,2,3, ...) the fee value is multiplied by the value of the field and the total is placed into the registration as a required fee.  This is particularly good for ticketed type events.
    • Example: 2 Adults @ $5 each, 2 Children @ $2 each

Only drop down fields can hold only integer values and work as a linked field.

    Example:

Adult Tickets:   (Multiplies selected value by fee price

  • If the value field contains any non integer character (words or letters combined with integer numbers or just words or letters) the fee is placed into the registration with a multiplied value of 1.  This is useful to force fee addition for answered questions ...
    • Example: "Do you want to purchase the optional shorts?" (Answer is Yes or no value).  If they answer "Yes" the shorts fee is placed into the registration.  If it is not selected at all then nothing is added.  Note you do not want to make the answers "Yes" or "No".

Both drop down and checkbox fields can hold non integer characters and work as a linked field.

Optional Shorts?  (adds in fee if selected)

or you could do this ...

Include lunch with my order.  (adds in fee if selected)

    but this would NOT work!

No.  This will not work!  These values are only numbers!
