Believe it or not most of the questions you have
surrounding how to integrate Upward and EasyREG have already been asked
:-) Listed here are some of the commonly asked questions regarding
how EasyREG works with churches running the Upward programs.
General Questions:
Collecting Payments:
Importing Player Data:
What does EasyREG do to help me simplify the registration process for my Upward programs?
EasyREG allows you to take your entire registration process online. We provide registration form templates for all Upward programs (Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Flag Football) as well as forms to accept registrations for coaches and volunteers for these same programs. After collecting the information we provide import files to bring all the data into your Upward ULM software.
Can I use EasyREG for events other then Upward programs?
Yes. EasyREG was created to allow churches to use it for any type of program. We are today used to collect registrations for everything from youth retreats to vacation bible school programs. We also have the capability to accept "non registration" type events like prayer requests.
Can EasyREG's online registration capabilities be shared between multiple churches running a common Upward program?
Yes ... with some limitations. EasyREG is used today by a host of churches that share their Upward programs and registration needs. In order for this to work properly two things are needed. First, each EasyREG account has one banner image associated with it. This image is displayed at the top of each registration form. Churches wishing to use a common account must therefore have a common banner image. Second, each account has a common web site link associated with it (where registrants go after completing the registration process). If multiple churches are sharing one account a common web site needs to be created as a "jumping off point" to enter into the EasyREG registration process.
Can two churches link to one common registration form?
Yes. The only stipulation is that after the registration process is completed the registrant will be directed back to one common site.
Can I wait list registrations based on their age or gender since sometimes certain age groups fill up faster then others?
Yes. EasyREG offers a very unique capability to wait list registrations based on a forms particular fields (like gender and grade). This feature allows you to continue accepting registrations for one age group while wait listing others.
What's involved in setting up and using Paypal to collect my Upward fees?
Setting up a Paypal account is very simple. Go to our Paypal page and from there click on the Paypal banner. When setting up a Paypal account you create a standard business account with your churches name as the owner of the account. Once this is completed you will be prompted to link your Paypal account to a bank account. After doing this you can transfer funds out of Paypal and into your church account at any time at no cost to you. Since our payment system uses the Paypal payment system this is all you need to do to start accepting online payments.
Can anyone pay through Paypal or do you need a Paypal account to use it?
Anyone can use Paypal to pay with their credit card and you do not have to have a Paypal account to use it (nor are you asked to set one up).
Our church already has a credit card "vendor" associated with their bank account ... can we use that to collect our fees?
No. Currently the only way to use accept credit cards through EasyREG is to use the Paypal system. We are working on enhancing these options to include other vendors but that work is not yet completed.
Can I import the same player's data multiple times? Will my player data get overwritten with each subsequent import?
No you cannot. When a player gets imported into the Upward ULM software their is a unique ID created which is a combination of the players name (first and last) as well as part of their address. Once a player is in the system you cannot overwrite this data by importing the player again. For this reason we tell churches to choose the "Import all my data" option when exporting their players. Note that if you imported in your last years players data prior to using EasyREG, those players will also not be imported in again (for this reason reason we suggest that you do not import in last years players).
Can I integrate this data into the software package being run by our church presently?
EasyREG allows you to export your data into a tab delimited file. This file can be viewed by programs such as Microsoft Excel. In many case tab delimited files can be used to import into a variety of other database programs.
My church is hesitant about collecting payments online ... is their another option?
It is not uncommon for churches to be hesitant about collecting fees online using credit cards. The use of credit cards is prevalent in our society with the potential of causing increased debt and reliance on plastic over cash. Although we cannot make this decision for you, let us share some options and thoughts on this subject.
What types of data can be imported into Upward's ULM software?
EasyREG can
import players (including cheerleaders), coaches, payments, volunteers
and coach/referee data into ULM. In order for this to occur you
must use our customized registration forms (which you can further
customize to your needs). |
